The Order of the Ceremony
The order of your ceremony may change depending on your religion, culture or style. I have listed below an order that can be used for a 20 – 25 minute ceremony. The more you add the longer the service.
- Prelude (music plays as guests arrive)
- Entrance (music plays as the wedding party enters)
- Groom and Groomsman enter from the side
- Bridesmaids (one by one)
- Maid of honor
- Ring Bearer
- Flower girl
- Bride and father of the bride
- Opening remarks (brief history of the couple and how they met)
- Readings
- Officiant addresses the couple
- Vows
- Ring exchange
- Pronouncement of marriage
- The kiss
- Unity symbols
- Closing remarks
- Recessional (music starts as the wedding party leaves)
- The Order of departure
- Bride and groom
- Flower girl
- Ring bearer
- Maid of honor and best man
- Bridesmaids + groomsmen (exit paired with one another)
- Parents of the bride
- Parents of the groom
- Grandparents of the bride
- Grandparents of the groom
- The Order of departure
- Postlude (music plays until all guests have left)
